Did .squelch function change recently?
« on: January 06, 2013, 08:54:55 AM »
I noticed over the past couple of days that a player I was squelching would pop back up. At first I thought that he was logging out then back until just now. I had him squelched and got both system messages. A few other players were conversing with him and I didn't see anything with their ID. Then, there they were again in the chat buffer and I know he didn't log off/on because I could see him up flying and maneuvering.

You can not squelch a player with a star in front of their name.

Thanks Fugitive. Hope this is only a beta "feature" because even starred people can be Richard Craniums, too.

My guess is that you are not able to type the star(s) into the .squelch command and there for it does not work.
They call it "common sense", then why is it so uncommon?

The only way I've found to create the ★ symbol is to create a registry value on my computer to allow hex input with the numpad and then enter the alt-code for it. It only seems to show up here - it shows as a question mark in a text editor and in the text buffer in the game. I have yet to find a need to squelch anyone, so it's no big deal to me. I'd guess it will be fixed in the final release of the achievement system.

If you hear what you want to hear and see what you want to see, eventually you will hear and see nothing.

Thanks HTC!

If you hear what you want to hear and see what you want to see, eventually you will hear and see nothing.

....hmmmm are you going by the name "nothing" now?
