Just a point of clarification. You can paint all the planes you like in WarBirds III, but the only ones that will be seen online are those which pass the scrutiny of the design group at IEN (which includes several players) and which are released for online use. There won't be any pink P-38's or invisible fuselages in WBIII.
There are some beautiful planes that guys have done too, truly labors of love. One or two have been selected for inclusion in WBIII, and more will no doubt follow. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see HTC do something similar - it's a great way of letting the players contribute to the development of the simulation, and if it passes whatever test HTC sets for it, there's no real reason not to have this facet developed. I agree that it's not a vitally important thing to have at this stage, and HTC's time is better spent expanding the planeset.
