Working on it. I like the similarities. Both have a well known reputation in their assigned aircraft. Both units immediately recognizable because of their markings. Both are Navy units operating from the squalid conditions of South Pacific land bases compared to the comfortable living conditions of their carrier borne brothers.

You have got some great points there. I once thought it would be cool if VF-17, itself, had a dual personality (what
with all the opfor duty we did in AvA - may as well do it with a specific alter-personality in mind). One with strong
similarities, in spite of sides, is just that much more appealing.

That would be very cool, plus would do both squads some good as far as SA with the icons lowered and good training for FSO.
Plus right now except for a couple of our hardcore Samurai Hightone and TxCoyote, most of us in the Tainan Kokutai could really
use the experiance of wringing out Japanese birds against some very well flown Corsairs. I'm working on the website right now
and it is cutting into my flying time. Gived me a week or two and we'll see if we can't make this happen.

Thanks for the warm welcome back everyone!! Thanks BigRat for helping me knock the rust off! And I'm flat out amazed at how the squad has progressed in my absence. Having BigRat, Seighin, Ryno, and more working to teach and improve the whole squad it has become a force to be reckoned with. 

In short, last time I was here, this was the best place to learn the hog, and they've made it better by 10.

Tex01 or Bonesaw as I knew him along with Modeus Branch BC and Noah.. Those guys made VF-17 an outstanding squad to be a member of.
It seems to have only gotten better around there. Tex01 will always rank as one the very top flight leads I've ever had.
