164 Squadron Hurricane Mk IID

Lyric1 found me a photo of this 164 squadron Hurricane based in the UK in 1943.

164 squadron was formed from Argentinian volunteers of British descent. From mid 1943 they used Hurricane Mk IVs armed with Vickers K guns to attack German coastal shipping and shore installations across the English Channel. In mid 1944 they upgraded to Hawker Typhoons before transferring to France.

The Mk IV was very similar in outline to our Mk II, apart from a slightly larger armoured radiator, more power and different armament options.

I've had a look over on the other skins as well.  That is some awesome work on those skins, as well as this one!   Like everyone of them.



That being said....Cactus is awfully quit.   Something is in the works, with Greebo keeping use nicely distracted with massive amount of Hurri Porn.   I am thinking that Cactus is the "default" skin on the next plane or two.

The Hurricane production line is likely to be coming to an end this week due to other commitments, but I might be able to squeeze one more in. If I can it will either be a Polish 303 Sqn Mk I or a VVS winter Mk II, haven't decided yet.

That one is a doozy.  But I'd go with VVS just to get another Russian skin on a plane.   But if ye still undecided, probably easiest to just flip a quarter.   Heads: 303, Tails: VVS.

Very nice Greebo.  Seriously, you've done an awesome amount of work on all these beautiful skins and this one is no exception.   

Oh, and I vote for a Polish skin!
