What has happened to delta employees is that delta no longer wants to offer the spiffs of the past......but they don't want the outrage...................... ...so they simply made it impossible to use your spiffs.

Expect this type of thing to start happening more often regardless of company type.

Icepac, It has been happening since 2001.  It is a sign of the times.  For the $100 it would have cost you, I would have had a back up ticket out of BWI to be safe.  Hell, SWA offers no change fees and you could have banked the cash for another backup.

I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

Bwi was full...... I even went to signature to try to get a ride as a "safety pilot" on a private plane or occupy space on a corporate plane but the stars didn't align.

I even checked Richmond to Miami which would have added considerably to my costs.

I'm cool that this allowed me to find the exact make and model I have been searching for and will greatly enjoy making it into a "SS wagon" though CAP will be disappointed that I passed on a crown Vic wagon and have rejoined the dark side.

Thanks all for the many helpful suggestions.

wait? they still made crown vic wagons? what year? how much? condition?

even though we critisize each other, there IS no dark side. a hot rod is a hot rod. it doesn't know what name's on its valve covers. unless it's a dodge...then it does, 'cause it's always losin'.  :noid

That's the reason I quit flying a few years ago. I've been with Delta 24 years and it's still very tough to get a standby seat to anywhere. Load factors are at an all time high, good for the company, bad for employee travel.
Don't try and outweird me.I get stranger things than you free in my breakfast cereal!

I think the ford wagons had 4 wheel disc brakes in 1973.

Pretty advanced car.

It got 24.6 mpg at 74mph on the cruise control.

that sucks man. I dont know whats with all these overbooked flights. I showed up at Dulles International Airport 3 hours early. and still managed to miss my flight because United took FOREVER to check my bag that had a firearm in it. then TSA only had 5 officers working the screening and there was about 150 people in line. Then i sat around the customer service desk for a few hours unitl a flight opened up to Denver. why can't airlines just sell tickets for the exact amount of seats they have? why overbook and screw over and piss off customers?

This wagon can carry a bunch of 4X8 sheets of plywood.

That was a minimum requirement for the new wagon.

Because people book reservations, decide not to show for whatever reason, and don't have the common courtesy to cancel their reservations.  The airlines are then stuck with non revenue generating reservations. So, they overbook in an attempt to at least break even.

You don't need a wagon to haul wood.....
