Mossie, Spit, P40
« on: January 17, 2013, 07:34:08 PM »
A friend sent me this. Taken today in Wellington, New Zealand.

I, naturally, ran outside as soon as I heard them, but left my phone on my desk.

I looked out for them but too many tall buildings here in the CBD, very little sky visible :(
Did you see my dad on dogfights yet?
I'll be seeing you face to face possibly next month.

Would have been cooler to see the mossie just open the throttles at the beginning andleave the other 2 in his propwash.

Reminds me of the time a few years ago playing golf on a course near Randolph AFB. I was pretty much at the top of a somehwat hilly course. Had a downhill Par-3.

Standing on the teebox, I saw a slim profile flying what seemed was almost level with me and I dunno, lol... maybe 2-3 miles. (wish I took pix) Then it banked.  A P-38.  Watched it for a while. Made my day.
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.
I'm not perfect, but I am closer to it than you are.
