Title Music
« on: January 19, 2013, 02:53:11 PM »
Id like to turn off the title music.  I have it off in the game sounds (but it still plays), and I can not find it in the AH folder.

Thanks

Options->Game Sounds

Slide the "Music" slider to zero.

if you have a custom sound pack you can look in there to find the "title0.mp3" replace that file with one you like, or a home made file that has nothing on it.

You don't even need a custom sound pack. Add a "title0.mp3" of your choice into the "Sounds" folder in AH. IIRC it is there with just a text file in it if you use the built in sounds.

If the music still plays after you move the "Music" slider to zero in that panel I pointed to, then you have something wrong with your game installation.

Mine plays the opening lines to 'Pulp Fiction', with Amanda Plummer standing on the table, screaming profanities at everyone in the diner

I did a fresh installation to solve freezing problems as You read in my post: music does not stop also if
it's sound slider is on zero. More exactly, it plays always when the game is loading or when I exit from it
and I return to the first screen - the one with kaktusolder picture. It does not play during the game.

That is the "Title" music. You can change it by putting a file named "title0.mp3" into the sounds folder. If you don't want any music. You can create the file with any program, just an empty file, Save as "Title0.mp3" with File type "All files" chosen. That would be a totally silent one.

There is no such thing as a "Sound" slider in the Options->Preferences->Game Sounds panel.

The "Music" slider controls the volume of the music.  It is the first slider, at the top of the flip out panel, on the left.  If moving that slider does not alter the opening music volume, then something is still wrong with your game installation.

Do make sure you select "Speaker" or "Headset" to make sure the sound volume is being altered for the correct output.
