Isnt it risky to put amd cards on an intel build. Midway
If you want to believe in urban legends, very.
Another perfect example of the successful propaganda, Semp.Just like AMD, the NVidia has nothing common with the Intel either. Anyways, if you start thinking a bit, the AMD is VERY much interested to make their video cards work with the CPU manufacturer's products that has 85% of the market... lulz, stupidityAlso, the high end AMD cards are almost always tested with Intel CPUs... They work...There is no need to explain why you have bought the GTX465 instead of the cheaper, faster, cooler HD-5850 But yea, the HD-7970 wont work in "SLI" with the HD-4000
If it's not your money go for it. When I started doing my build, there were threads about mixing amd with nvidia and they didn't play well. If they were 50 dollar cards, I wouldnt say anything but not with platinum cards.Midway
I'm echoing what Bighorn said. If I was building a workstation at that level, I'd go with Xeon's, ECC RAM, and a higher quality P/S.Also, perhaps a RAID card.
hmm, bad choices...Xeons with ECC memory is a must, so is dual high quality power supply (Rosewill it isn't). If you have to run large amount of monitors, than something like nvidia quadro plex is a better choice (or at least quadro 6000)What kind of graphic artist is that friend of yours? S-IPS wide gamut panels would most likely be better choice. Which graphic pro works on TN displays anyway?
