GV Hangars at town
« on: January 17, 2013, 09:01:31 AM »
:airplane: I guess this will being out the "nay sayers", but at least look at it with an open mind! I would like to see 2 VH hangars located somewhere on the edge of town. One on one side and the other one on the other side.  The reason for this is simple, to slow down the "hordes" and made it a little more difficult to capture a base. Once these hangars were bombed and put out of commsion, they would be down for 20 minutes. It would give the towns more defensive capbiliblty and make it more difficult for 2 people to take a base. In addition, it would give the bombers or fighters, two more targets which should be "killed" to disable the base and town. This would make these hangars a priorty for mission planners and would give the GV people more options than just the spawn point or coming off the base prior to the VH being "killed". Yes, it would make it more difficult to capture a base, but consider the possiblities!

I think 1 vh near the flag wouldn't be bad, not two though.  I can already here the complaints now *But if there are more VH then those who are attacking don't have the advantage anymore*.   :rofl

I'm a defender/support player, backing others up = what I do. For me, I think that right now it is somewhat easy to get a base (even with a horde).  It all depends on how well the coordination is between the players in said "horde".   I think though that it would be beneficial overall.

+1  :aok

why do you think it needs to be more difficult?

and what makes you think making it more difficult would slow down the hordes? the harder you make it to capture, the more people they will use.

and finally, why even bother trying to slow down the hordes by changing the rules.. we have an endless amount of bases.. defend them or don't, it doesn't matter, every side will always have bases...

Simple take the VH off the base entirely and move it to the town.  I will not have to bomb two separate locations anymore making it easier.  +1
They call it "common sense", then why is it so uncommon?

Doing that makes it easier than it is right now. One set of bombers can now take out parts of town AND the VH is rapid succession. No, if you want to stay true to the OP's wish, add a spawn point to the town. Less work, same effect, no side effects to the wish.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

That would do the exact opposite of that you are asking for.  It would take more effort to disable and capture a field.  More effort easily translates to more aircraft required.
Additionally if you want to slow down the hordes, what is the concern of two people taking a base then?

BTW... If you want to actually disable a field.  You take out the VH, and then you take out the field ack.  You don't need a horde for this, and you can ignore the hangers other than the VH.  The mission planners do not even do this, why do you think they will plan better if you add more targets?

If you do this (build hangars in town) what is the purpose of having towns separate from airfields? None.

No, some towns are very long drives, and you can just up from there and have an enormous defensively strategic position to whack me as I come in, nuuuutuhhh.
They're casting their bait over there, see?
