All I can say is his knuckles must drag the floor to have arms that reach that far across. :bolt:

Great fun to be back, been zooming around in a P51-D for the last two days, getting the hang of it again, almost like riding the bicycle i must say. Suffering badly for the lack of rudders tough, but i think the delivery comes thru on monday.

Been recognizing alot of old fart names in the arenas, thats great really. Cant belive i stayed away for this long really.

Maniac is one of the few I first run into  (and promptly got shot down by), in Warbirds early 1997.
At that time he had the handle "Nr-1".

A bit later I joined with him in the squad RSAF in Warbirds. Good memories :old:

Welcome back, Maniac, Sir!

I remember your handle from early AH times...the '40s...that's when I began in AH.

What is a memory for me is that I once passed up an opportunity to purchase a game called, "Confirmed Kill", because as a single father at the time, I did not have the "discretionary" funds available to make the purchase.

For those of you who do not know, HT wrote "Confirmed Kill" which became "Warbirds"...and then..."Aces High".

Maniac, there is really no need for a different engine. Our current engine can supports any desired modern effects. The last large changes to it were a complete rewrite of the terrain & water system, along with an addition to support shaders, and vertex blending.

The last minor change was the addition of environment mapping.

But you may simply be asking for a specific piece to be changed, what do you think needs to be improved?

Lotta folks think it should look like a PS3 game--i.e. Halo, COD, etc. Aside from the fact many folks couldn't run that on their machines, does quality of internet connection come into play trying to move the more intense graphics?

No, not at all, the graphics only move on your computer, the netcode takes care of the rest, and that stays the same no matter how great graphics you have. Well theres nothing "wrong" with AHs current graphics imo, but it would be a sad day if a competitor surfed up with an graphics engine from 2010+ and offered realistic flight models and the same amount of players in one arena like AH does.

And thanks for all the welcomes! Working the night shift this weekend so i cant play atm, but i have this compensation "vacation" monday to friday, so i guess ill be flyin :).
