I agree with all of that SL. No matter what happened though, the cops involved made a huge mistake, even if their dispatch said "that's the vehicle in question" regarding the x-LAPD fugitive, they still had no right to open fire without first identifying their targets. Both women WERE hit, one of them several times, but they will survive. Both of them also say they were shot while still seated inside the vehicle, which looks like a fairly believable statement considering the bullet holes. Shooting at targets that haven't been identified is a major failure IMO. Those windows look tinted, and this happened at night, how an earth could the cops even see if the targets were armed, much less who they were. Like I said, ridiculous, considering the cops so far have gotten a pass and "it was an accident" stamp from their department.
I agree with you that we don't know the whole story of this incident, but I ask what possible excuse could the officers have here to defend themselves with, when they had the wrong vehicle type, color, and occupants. So far from matching the description of their "target" that they are of opposite sex. Insane.
