It definitely depends on the individual.  I prefer CH Pro Pedals.  They are solid and dependable, but a little less than realistic.  They could be a little more resistant to movement.  I've had mine for almost 8 years now, and other than being somewhat dirty they're as good as new.

I've had both CH and Saitek pedals. Both have the same action back and forth and both have toe brakes. I had the CH set (gameport) for years and they worked fine. I've had this set of Saitek (USB) for a little over a year now and they work fine. I like the Saiteks as they have a wider stance and I find them more comfortable.

I'd love to try the simpeds but aside from being almost non-existent they're also godawful expensive!

Wish somebody come up with an affordable set with hall sensors or something other than a pot that has more resolution (finer control).

I got twelve years of hard use out of my first set of CH Pro Pedals.  When they finally died, I got another set.

I have a set of Simpeds, I got one of the last pairs he made.  I also have a set of CH pedals which are going unused, and a set of the Saitek Combat Pedals.  For the money, and in terms of ease of finding them and repairing them if they break (I'm referring to the Simpeds here), the Saitek Combat are what I would recommend.  They are a little wider than the CH pedals, have a lot more metal in their construction, and work a bit better in my experience.  That said, you really can't go wrong with the CH pedals either, and they can be found for a fair bit less than the Saitek Combats, which were over 200$ when I bought them.  Don't ask what the Simpeds cost, they were more than my Warthog Hotas was, or my entire CH USD setup.

My interest is great in the link that Bino just put up, I hadn't heard of these before, and I think I might try a pair of the Cirrus ones out.

I have all CH stuff, including the Pro Pedals.  They work fine, have never had problems with CH stuff.

I really liked the Thrustmaster elite pedals, although they had one big flaw. They needed to have an analog joystick plugged into them in order to work. That was the ONLY thing my saitek x45 was good for. It sat under the desk plugged into the pedals as I used my ms stick.
