Thank You Skuzzy, Pyro, etal...
« on: February 24, 2013, 08:32:06 PM »
That new sound package thingie you did..Brilliant. My stinky ol puter went from 20-49 frame rate to 90 to 150!!!!
I might have problems finding it worthwhile to play at my old frame rates...Don't change a thing!

Do you have V-sync enabled or disabled?

Also, what monitor do you have?

Jager, none of that has to do with the sound system; really?

Groth if you are getting that much more fps from just installing the new sound beta system, then it seems HT has found his bottleneck issue.

PS: I wasn't able to confirm this theory on my own computer; not seeing any real FPS difference.

but it has to do with what the OP says about his FR.

If his FR has jumped to "90-150!!!" and he plays the game with vsync disabled it could cause tearing and other video issues. The monitor type is because some people use 120 hz monitors now.

If you don't know what your talking about maybe you shouldn't talk about it?

Read carefully before responding, " if you are getting that much more fps from just installing the new sound beta system"; that means the burden is on him to answer otherwise.

I have tested it myself and seen no difference, so the OP must either have special circumstances surrounding his situation or he isn't giving proper attention to detail.

PS: Or conversely, my system is in a special bracket that is unaffected by it. Anyone else have similar experiences as the OP?

I couldn't care less about that part of your post. You jumped on Jager about asking "Jager, none of that has to do with the sound system; really?" I pointed out what Jager's questions were relevant.

Personally I just think the OP turned something else off and assumed it was the Beta that gave him the jump in FRs.

Groth, I'd be interested to see your dxdiag, if possible.
