Well try to imagine what would happen with this when a field is capped fug.

hmmmm if a field is capped and buffs were taking off, the buffs would be slaughtered. Guns would be cold until they lifted as they are now (because it is still the first flight).

You still haven't said what is wrong with the way it is now?

OK, but only if the bomber has to sit unmanned on landing while the crew exits and makes its way to the tower on foot before they can register a safe landing.  :D

I can see the argument for the way it is now but using a bomber as a gunship on the ground may certainly have been done.  That said if real world says shoot bombers on the ground then they should be able to shoot back.  if the attacking force wants to neutralize that threat they can.
Might be a programming nightmare(If it is then it is not worth the effort) but it seems fare to let the bombers be indestructible till guns arm or arm them when engines fire.  Seems like I remember the nose guns fired by the pilot are armed at the spawn. 

I don't see this as a deal breaker but more of an interesting point to the simulation.

Offensively, it's an ACK barge.

Years ago you could do this. You could spawn at your base and defend having a single player man all guns in the buff (or 6 players all manning guns in each of their buffs). On the attack, you could land at a deacked base and kill everything that spawned. This why it was changed, because it became "the" way to defend, or cap a field.

Odds are pretty good it isn't going to go back that way any time soon.

Defense is not an issue with this wish, offence is the only weak link.

Imagine bombers de-acking fields and landing, then vulching or taking out the rest of the structures with their guns.


Are you hoping to land at an enemy field and then camp the runway like a tanker?
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

that was so much fun in airwarrior.  land at a base in a b17 and then sit behind the runway and get kill after kill.  but here if you want to vulch do it the right way, get some rockets :)>

Let them get rolling for 2 reasons.
1.  You get better at leading rockets.
2.  They are more likely to think they have a chance and will probably launch again.

Or use a tank and put the range of your main gun to use like I did.
