Comrade traverses map on ground
« on: March 09, 2013, 11:06:14 AM »
While attacking V28 last night, after hitting some buildings, I took a radiator hit to my IL-2, I tried to get as far from the base to avoid capture but didn't make it far in the air.
I turned the engine off once the needle hits the 150C mark, and glided to the ground, still in the Radar ring of 28, I saw that the engine cooled, so I decided to try to taxi out of the ring to attempt to get a ditch.

Turned the engine on and off and maintained a speed between 50-100mph with only a few short pauses for the engine to cool down and eventually made it out of the ring. After going so far I decided to attempt to make it home. After a lot of time, and even re-supplying at 18 to get more fuel, I had traveled about 2 sectors, right outside of my departure base's ring 129 when I somehow flipped over ending my journey short. Possibly due to a slight change in terrain from downhill to uphill. I wish I would have made it back, but I got the ditch.

I am trying to get film up of it, as I know some are bound to be skeptical, but it is proving somewhat difficult, it is over an hour of film. Any suggestions on how to upload ?

Have you resolved your upload dilemma?   If not, you could try setting up a free dropbox account ( 2GB free web storage space ), upload your film to that folder, make the folder 'shared', then send the info to whoever wants to download it.

Seems to work pretty good for some large files I've had to share.
