More airplane wheels for my garage.
« on: April 04, 2013, 05:20:57 PM »
As many know, I’ve been decorating my garage with old airplane parts. I recently picked up two small tail wheels. (Dated 1943 & 1944.) I just finished making lights out of them.

These go well with the table I made from a T-6 Texan main wheel.

Here is a view of the ceiling with the new lights…

And there is a big project in the works! (I just need to be the high bidder tonight!)

How many hours did it take you to put together and get all running correctly?

You should put these items on Ebay with sentimental value included.

Does shining the tires cause annoying glare?
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

The prop is a Hartzell. I did that project last summer. It was a slow project. A friend at work fabricated the mount, and it is powered by the motor from an electric shopping cart. The paint is peeling on one of the blades, and I will need to touch that up.

I’m pretty exited about the next project! I just bought some sections of engine cowlings from a C47.  I’m going to paint some “Nose art” on them and hang them in the garage. I’ll post photos when I pick them up later this week.
