Headset
« on: April 20, 2013, 12:31:31 PM »
Ok so I'm using this right now:
http://dynexdxusb.blogspot.com/2012/04/dynex-dx-840-usb-headset-with.html

I can use the microphone fine in game, however, how come it does not show up under the headset tab in Game Sounds? The USB device does show up under microphone. I want to be able to hear just the VOX in headset...any way to do that? I understand I need to click the little button for head set on the voice tab and such, but if I can't select the USB device under headset, it does not help and just plays on speakers.

Any suggestions??  :bhead

Can you select it as the speaker in Windows?

Sure can, I have it set as my default communication device as well. So when on Team Speak, I can hear my squadies through the headset and not through speaker system. Now I can make it where I hear the entire game through the headset but that defeats the purpose...just want the VOX  :cry

I wish I could split sounds between detected sound systems. So if I wanted I could pipe the engine and external sounds through my speakers but channel stall horns and gun sounds/voice into my headset.

Windows really hates having a single audio device (sound card) but using two? I don't think you will find that supported by HTC ever. I use two myself. One for vox (mic input only) and one for game sounds.

My PC sound card is connected to my stereo auxiliary and I have a Corsair Vengeance headset.
All external sounds guns, flaps, tires, explosions, engines, etc go through the stereo.
The headset is strictly for vox communication, mic and voice.

I don't remember who posted this but it would seem to answer your question.
