Yep. The 12 .303s do their job. When I was in the main preparing for FSO, a corsair cooperated with me spectacularly as I was diving in on him, hanging on his prop in perfect planform in front of me. I took the opportunity to shoot him in the middle of the fuselage, just to see if it would do enough damage to take him out. It did, handily. This is opening up starting around 400 on the way in to my convergence at 300. He was in two pieces by the time I figure I was at about 200 yards.
Best results occur inside of 300 though for sure.
