Last night I shot down a pilot whose name rhymes with the UNIX tool gawk.  Such a tirade of uncalled for negative verbiage then was directed at me that you would think I did something really wrong.  I did not vulch him off a field or in a way that he did not see it coming and could not react (if he had the skill).

I get shot down a lot.  A LOT!  I shrug it off, send out a then re-up.  No big whoop.

Its just a game.  Don't take it so serious!  If you do (that is your thing no prob) maybe be a little more magnanimous.  If you can.

Frankly I admire those who, against the objections of those who either don't care or seem to think it appropriate, bring to the AH community's attention that there are players who are "gaming the game" or more accurately, CHEATING. Certain players regularly criticize them, make comment such as " another look at me thread has been registered" blah blah blah, AD NASEUM. First, KEEP on posting the nics of those whose scores correlate with others and are farming perks/achievements. Second, bash those who are complacent or critical of those who notify the AH community. If you want to cheat or garner accomplishments by "unorthodox" means, got to WoT or some other community where you can just buy them. If you want to criticize those who out the cheaters, then you should just go along with them, because obviously you have no more ethics or standards than the cheaters. It's time for the AH community to stop putting up with losers and those who "don't care". Stand up and be counted, it's our game, we pay for it and we don't want cheaters or their apologists.

I don't recall seeing anywhere in this thread a discussion on "cheating" or anything of that nature.

So gaining perk points or achievements other than the way intended is not cheating?  Obvoiusly, the more reputable players and squads do, as they have kicked offending players from their squads, and I have been told personally over coms by a player who did this that it was WRONG and he APOLOGIZED to me and the AH community for doing so. That player has more integrity than any of you who say, "it's not hurting me any". Well, it does hurt every other player who is wiling to go by the rules. This is a GAME, intended to be played under certain requirements, and those who game the game, or CHEAT, hurt the whole community. Grow some integrity folks, you're making yourselves and the AH community look like doggie poo.

I don't disagree with your thinking, but that is not what this thread is about. Slade shot down another person who perhaps sent a PM or Private Vox'd him with unkind words about his flying or lack there of.  This thread has nothing to do with cheating or accusations of cheating.

I appreciate the voices of support.

All I was trying to communicate was to simply be more respectful of each other.  That is it.  Not a "look at me " thread etc. etc.

In general I am really happy with this game, HTC and most players are great folks.  However, I am no longer going to make suggestions of this type.  I'll stick to simple plane wishes at best.

I expect those folks that do "gamey" to continue to do it no matter what is changed.  Also, those that are nasty to not change their spots either.  I was naive to think I could influence anyone in these ways.

Well, if you get the chance, you should vulch him or anyone off the field...  All's fair in love and war.  This being war (the cyber kind).  Nothing wrong with a good vulch or good HO or good pick or bad ones for that matter. :aok :joystick:

It can be especially fun to vulch 'em as they land. ;)  Oh, the whines can be most rewarding!  :devil
