Why I haven't been doing much flying
« on: May 24, 2013, 01:23:47 PM »
Took up a new hobby of doing motorcycle track days, and am going to consider starting to race next year...which leaves me little time for AH or any other gaming much any more... of course this gives me more adrenaline! :)

Heres a link to a video about our sport bike riders group...

Miss flying with all you guys.

I love riding but don't think it's "cool" to do stunts on public roads! Some of the things I saw in the video made me think,"no wonder they call them donourcycles!

On a track or a closed mall lot is one thing but to do wheelies on public roads just gives responsible riders a bad name.

But hey I was young and silly once too! :rofl   Have fun but be safe!!

Our group is 200+ strong, MOST of us only do "stupid" on the track, but in a group that large, there are bound to be "a few"  Plus that video is compiled from YEARS of footage from the group, as stated in the video, we started out as a group of guys riding sportbikes, and did a lot of street "hooliganism" but have since matured into a very safety aware, and safety promoting organization, who push safe street riding, wearing proper equipment, and saving the more intense stuff for the track.

:salute to you as well sir, for shwing concern about safe riding!

Do you call it assfalt because some of you seem to do whatever it takes to get some tarmac burns on the behind?

There are quite a few of these 'bomber' type idiots who do wheelies and 100mph burn-outs in the public traffic. I live in a residential area with a 60km/h speed limit and almost daily some idiot is going to accelerate to over 200km/h on the road.

Just a couple of years ago one kid died when two motorcycles collided with eachothers, the knucklehead who collided was doing over 200km/h with a 15 year old passenger on the back. Another motorcycle took off from a crossroad and the idiot crashed his rear wheel sending them all in air. The 15 year old passenger flew over 100m and died on scene.

Yeah, I hate people who speed in motorcycles i.e. 90% of them.

Ripley, please see the above post regarding the street antics..as i said, the group in general refrains from such things now, and keep it on the track.  On street 99% are extremely safe riders....the group used to do such things, but as a whole, has matured beyond that as said in the video.  We are much more about going to the track and such now

 Sol,

I'm glad to hear you guys are taking it off the streets! On a closed circuit I see no reason to not ride to the limit and beyond if you can. My concern came from seeing a couple of your riders speeding and riding on the back tire on a public road. Up here in Canada if caught you'd loose your bike, licence and be fined quite heavily. We have a "stunt driving" offense that they can levee on you if you exceed 50 KM over limit, thats only 30 mph.

Also I have several friends with 1 leg shorter than the other all because we thought we were invincible and the hottest thing on 2 wheels!

Don't get me wrong,I did all those stupid things myself,I was fortunate enough to have escaped unharmed but not all my friends can say that.

Have fun but please be safe!!

Absolutely sir, and thats exactly what I was explaining above, the video has years worth of footage in it... starting back in I thin 07, before I was even riding with them.... We preach to push it on the track... not street, but however much you preach there are always those who choose to ignore it...  Being a Junkie (assfault junkies) is more about the person, than thier  riding, and while we will preach to them to no end, if that individual chooses to be a hooligan, it is on them.
I just got myself a GoPro, so ill be making some videos from the track... should be fun!
