New Arena Admin Function: Aircraft/Vehcile MAXNUMBER

For all aircraft and vehicles, when we use the admin field settings if we could also specify a maximum number of active units or unlimited, that would be perfect.

The reason in particular for a setup, it would be handy to limit the # of higher end performance aircraft. I.e. 2 x Me262 or 4 x Tempests to better represent historical actuals. And if you went to the hangar, they would be red if all were flying/active - no different if a hangar was down.

For example - lets take a setup for Western Front Europe October 1944
You could have:

Axis:
Bf-109G6
Fw-190A5-8/F8
Bf-109K4*
Me-262*

Vs.
P-51D
P-47D25
P-38L
Spitfire XIV
Spitfire XVI*
Tempest*
Tiger II*


Where * indicates a maximum #  per side. Maybe 2 Me-262's 10 Bf-190K4 4 Tempests and 5 Spits and 2 Tigers.

I always thought the CM had that ability....... :headscratch:

Won't this lower your foot traffic because many players won't want to fly less powerful aircraft if they have the perks for the limited rides? Then the other side of the coin is the limited play style forced by the proliferation of perk rides when you offer late war period scenario.

You have my sympathies.

A CM command like this wouldn't hurt.

Heya Fork, Bustr (and everyone else),

I have participated in some pretty fun scenarios where the numbers were set and for some the appeal of a more balanced choice was greater. I think this also would be an opportuninty for what some have been asking for in the shape of strategic strikes of factories, as an added game feature.  Of course we are not talking of MA but scenarios and special arena setups.   

I would also, suggest to add a time limit feature as well.  For example:  Max # plane ID, for # of mins.  This would begin a countdown after the max number was reached that would close the hangar option for that plane ID until time had elapsed or reset by repair of object or CM control.

CMs can only enable/disable planes...we cannot set how many of a type can be used. And perks are not earned or used in special events.

I would like to be able to set a number, and once that many spawn, they automatically get disabled...which would be different from the number of "active" units. If someone spawns and promptly crashes it, too bad...that's one gone from the pool.

October 1944 190a5 where outdated and not in squadrons, the 109g6 had better engine than the one found in AH, and the K4 where not in squadrons.

Would have been an easy ride for the allies, specially as axis would have the best 10% of players,and 90% of the worst, if you want to simulate real ww2 as close as possible.
