D4Y Judy Dive bomber

Yokosuka D4Y1 Model 11 (in-line engine)

 
Specs :
   Cruise Speed:   265 mph at 9845 ft
     Max Speed:      343 mph at 15585 ft
       
Armament:  two 7.7mm Type 97 machine guns in nose
      one flexible 7.92mm Type 1 machine gun in rear position
      up to 683 lbs (310 kgs) of bombs

        Max Speed:      357 mph at 19850 ft
Armament: two 7.7mm Type 97 machine guns in nose

that is one of the tougher aircraft to find accurate data on (i.e. as accurate and plentiful as the p-51 or spitfire), especially on the net. wish i could read japanese...

It was, as I recall, the fastest operational dive bomber of WWII.  It also had some notable successes, such as the strike on USS Franklin.

The Judy would see use in the MA as well as the special events. Sure it doesn't hold the bombload of its American counterparts, but it looks like it would be a blast to fly. I would use it :cheers:

A possibility to be sure.  Definitely worthwhile for scenarios.

Don't leave out that she's a looker too.. Well for a divebomber she's a looker.
