Perhaps an easy fix would be to only enable the 163s when territory is pushed back a certain amount.

I see Fester's point. I've looked at the map plenty of times to see strat runners. Bombers take a long time to hit their target and the direction gives you plenty of time to up, get alt and intercept IF you have the patience to do it.
163s enabled on all the maps at all times are just the lazy mans fix and IMO, Bombers stand no chance with all the time it takes and also taking the wind effect does shy bomber pilots away from hitting strats

Ive got the patients and often track strat raiders from 4 sectors out in a 110g2. Still can't get to them above 31k and they know it. So I see festers point to  he wants a free run or a few wallowing ac at 32k trying to catch him and therefore are easy kills for him.
