Blu I boogie when I'm low on ammo and fuel. Or have 8kills :D

another great fight was on the current map. Was me in an SBD against a pair of 262's(o e being SFOX and a cohort) nikonguy and some nameless chap in F4's. They tried BnZing me for a good 5-10minutes. Nikonguy ended up killing me and after said I was pissing off the 262's with perfectly time break turns :rofl

And today me in an a8 against paleoguys ta152. Rolled dived and we were pretty much even until a friendly came by and made him break. Went at it again with more e and ended up taking a wing off

:lol Funny Dolby, that cheered me up a little. The main reason I keep coming back to play this game is because you people make me laugh and have a good time.

Sorry if I sounded like a Debbie Downer, my stupidity really gets to me a lot and then my depression kicks in. My opinion still stands though. According to my standards I am not close to a good pilot yet. You say I lose 1v1s because I'm already damaged? I want to get to the skill level where I don't take damage from anyone in any fight. You say it's impossible to win a fight when the odds are too great? I'm going to make it possible! Once I've finally reached these levels only then will I might consider calling myself a good pilot.

My most memorable sortie was during the Longbow scenario in AW.  I was a gunner in Spiff's B17 and while over Germany we had been attacked numerous times.  We were on our way back to England, Spiff nursing the badly damaged and smoking B17 all the way, determined to make it back and land.  As we flew, I was looking outside keeping an eye open for any LW planes chasing us.  After a while, we were spotted by some patrolling Spitfires (dead pilots could have a second life in a patrol Spitfire as long as they didn't cross the channel/North Sea).  They escorted us back to England, flying around us the whole way.  I remember looking out at them and getting a very real feeling of 'being there'.  A lump came to my throat and tears welled in my eyes as I looked out at the circling Spits, the immersion was so great!  I really felt extremely relieved when we made it back and Spiff finally landed the B17 on British soil.

My uncle, who died early last year, was a rear gunner in a Wellington bomber and it is in his memory that I will continue to remember this brief moment in time in an online game....   :salute

I wish we could still fly our fighters and bombers back to England during scenarios.

I once landed away from a town and broke the wings off my goon while trying to capture a base......drove it along the ground ( it was flat thankfully) for 3 or 4 minutes at 150 mph  until I reached town, dropped troops, and captured the base......and yes I do have the film.....still laugh about it.....

I have better idea, I'll pilot a Ki-67 and you'll gun for me, or the other way around

That reminds me. Last epic battle I had with My ki took place against 10-15 red dudes. Took out 4, got hit bad, took another 2 and somehow had several ponies and spits spreading my planes part across the water. :airplane:
Granted with 7min of fuel left you become  a brew, but better :rock

Never say that word again.

I don't care how much you may dislike Ink, there's no reason to compare his favorite aircraft on low fuel to that...that... that THING.

Last night was pretty memorable. A bunch of us in Zeros and F4U1s fighting a handful of Ki-84s, P-38s, and what have you.

Got some pretty good kills there. Thanks, Akak!

Me too.... it certainly added to the immersion!  Taking off from England too and spending time just forming up with other bomber groups made it all seem much more real than those awful air spawns!  I don't think most players these days would have the patience that we apparently had lol!   :old:
