I thought that bugs became instantly mummified when exposed to the Vegas heat?

Myth.  Lots of bugs here.  Only "good" thing about bugs here is that the desert recluse spider, although still very bad news, is reputed to be way less grumpy than the common brown recluse.  I've read reports of kids playing with them for hours without getting bit.  Yea it was on the internets, but the stories are fairly consistent pointing to the desert recluse being more tolerant to accidental contact.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

Amazing photos Nef.......We call those sweat bees up here in PA, not sure what its real genus is.

We got sweat bees, but they are black and look like little mini wasps, and they bite/sting. They are roughly the same size as these hover flies, but look much different.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!
