I wonder if the forums for that submarine game have wishlist where people are always asking for multiplayer flight sim to be added to their game?

Nope. (I belong to the forums - game and community.)  :D

don't listen to arlo :neener: he doesn't know the potential in AH having a FPS version with snipers and infantry and stuff like that it would get more players joining thus more money for Hitech and his crew = more WW2 airplanes and remodels :D I think its a win/win thing, I think Htc could put COD and BF3 or any other FPS game to shame if they had some sort of FPS part to the game

And yet you have no idea what an undertaking it may be. Perhaps the AH engine can't make
a first person shooter as good as what already exists in the world of FPS. When you've got
something that's really good, the best even, you don't decide to diversify toward something
your product was never really designed to do. It will not drag FPS players here to stay. But,
like I said, even if, who want's to see a flight sim arena maxed out because three quarters of
the players are on their two week trial to try out the FPS?

Are...  Are you actually serious?  'put some sort of FPS into the game'?  It's not a freaking bolt-on spoiler for a Honda Civic.  Bail from a plane and take a walk around town, then take a look at what you see in COD and BF3 or any other FPS and tell me what differences you notice.

There's no way at the level of detail AH has that an FPS portion would be anything other than terribad.  People constantly bemoan the state of graphics flying by them at 400mph, and you're suggesting getting down into the middle of them on foot, in a genre where the players are some of the most eye candy demanding?  Just... no.

don't listen to Arlo, someone has been dipping his donuts in cat litter...

subs could work, much like the current cv groups, take command, set them on a course, then go back to fighting the war. if someone is goofy enough to sit on the bridge of a sub scooting along under water at 10-20 knots, it's their dime. and just like the cv's, 1 spawned per port owned by each chess piece. then we would need active sonar on the ships and, sub hunting aircraft. a lot wannabe navy heroes will go

In a previous wishlist thread about subs, HiTech gave a rough idea on how he envisioned subs working in game and it was sort of along the lines of what you wrote.

I still say it would also require something not as simplistic alongside which is player controlled
asw. Not so simple, that. Sonar would have to be modeled, as would depth charges. And that's
just the basics. Does the AI sub stay at periscope depth? Does it 'dive' to its max depth when
being attacked? Or does the submarine 'task force' commander tell it to dive to a certain depth
as well as change it's course? Will the TF commander be the one ordering the torps to fire or
is this like a manned gun (fore and aft tubes .... but one direction the scope can view)? Does he
get infinite torpedoes to fire? Does the periscope get an icon?

Is all that really worth it to see a periscope and a bubble trail?

Some of us don't appreciate the game for what it is (nor do they realize the differences
in game scope and design).  :D

Wiley.

Granted the Graphics will never be up to the standards of a main stream first person shoot, but it has something those games don't have: teamwork...
When is the last time anyone said, "man, I enjoyed the teamwork on CoD"....I remember, never.....
This would offer something different than the simple force on force gameplay so comon in these other games....
