Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto
« on: June 29, 2013, 10:31:32 AM »
:airplane: I plan and carry out reenactment missions on Tuesday nights in the MLW arena. This past Tuesday, we honored the guys of the 57th Fighter-bomber group. Would any of the Bish or Knights be interested in this coming Tuesday night, 9PM, EST, in helping me reenact the P-38G's of the 339th fighter squadron, interception of Admiral Yamamoto's G4M's. If interested, send me PM.....I am not interested in someone becoming "fodder" for the guys to shoot down, so you can have all the escort you want, just no "deuces", or German aircraft, just Japanese fighters for escorts please.
You could let me know, via PM, ET37, what 4 sectors you would be in and we will have 6, 3 P-38 aircraft, in search patterns to locate you. We could have quite a "donnybrook" if anyone interested in coordinating with me on this!
No, not interested in special event arena guys, we like to do other missions on the same night besides the main event!
Blue Skies and wind at my back and wish that for all!!!

What does "just no "deuces"" mean?

No 190s or it will be a slaughter and Yamamoto lives!

Doubt it.  G4M is pretty helpless and if I can nail a C-47 being heavily escorted by P-51Ds while flying a slow A6M5b and get away there is really nothing that an escort of Fw190s or, keeping it Japanese, Ki-84s or, keeping it Japanese navy, N1K2-Js will be able to do to save the G4M even though the Fw190, Ki-84 and N1K2-J all dominate the P-38G in a pure air superiority capacity.

:airplane: You are correct about the German aircraft, but if everyone does the honorable thing and just fly Jap aircraft, it should be an interesting aerial combat for all.

The only way the G4M1 will survive is if it isn't found.  If the P-38Gs find themselves ranged against Ki-84s and N1K2-Js with players of equal skill in them it will go badly for them after they kill Yamamoto.

Good on you for doing it though.  I'd participate if I weren't at work.  <S>
