.f command wish
« on: July 15, 2013, 12:03:34 AM »
I wish that when you did a .f command on a player it would tell you not only the arena that they are in but also the country they are flying for.

I also wish there was a way to do something like a .fsqd <squad name> command to find an entire squad (sometimes it's hard to memorize all the names of the squad members). It would probably be more practical (since sometimes a squad has multiple wings) to do something like a .fsqdco <CO name> and the whole squad under that CO would show up.

why not just use the player roster and sort by squad? or is that just too much trouble...

It gets to be too much trouble when you are trying to keep track of ten guys who switch country on a regular basis, or are in a different arena.

:rofl  if you have enough time to try and track 10 guys from a squad, you're not doing it right...

I was thinking about something similar to this actually but only within an arena.  Being able to hold your mouse over a friendly dot on the clipboard is very useful.  What if you do a ".sf playername" to get a fix on a friendly player much like we can for a field?  (I use the .sf field command all the time, great tool)

In this manner Bruv will never have to fly without his biggest fan...

Another, less viable idea is to use the ".sf player" command on an ENEMY pilot.  Instead of centering on the pilot's current location (which would be bad if he were on an NOE mission) the system kicks back the last location at which a friendly gained detailed icon on said pilot's aircraft/gv.  Result: "last report Sector 9.8, 22 minutes ago."
NEVER underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
