I'm just going to say I do this same thing all the time. Sometimes from much further away (up to 10k). I have had 'spotters' tell me my rounds are far beyond the hangars that very soon afterwards explode. If, one of the guns can be seen firing, then I will kill it though not always with the first shot but it does happen. So, I do not see anything that is unusual in these films.
