Col. George "Bud" Day, Medal of Honor Recipient

Has passed away.
As a student at Morningside College in Sioux City, IA, I saw his story time and time again as it was presented on the wall outside the registrars office (both of us are alumni). As I flew in and out of the airport that bears his name in Sioux City, IA, I read his story time and time again. But meeting him in person and looking in to his eyes and seeing his warm smile and feeling his soft yet strong handshake made it as real as can be. It was an honor to have met him, to have been able to shake his hand, and share a few brief minutes of his time. He was a true hero and I hope the media takes a break from all of the BS it is currently hyping up to at least mention this gentleman.
RIP Col. Day

. Honored and privileged to meet him in 1982. A true prince of a guy and consummate gentleman. He wasn't allowed to buy anything that night.
