Title/splash screen music
« on: September 22, 2013, 08:28:38 AM »
How does one get rid of it? I was told to trash the title0 file from sound folder. It didn't work.

Thanks

Go to Options->Preferences->Game Sounds and set the slider under master volume that says Music.

It can be confusing because there are 2 sliders for music and the one under "advanced" settings, marked "title music", doesn't affect the music played before the game launches.

Although the correct method has been found and applied, I'd like to correct the title0 workaround trick instructions:

If you want to change the title music, there must be a "Sounds" folder and an mp3 file called "title0" in it. Otherwise the title music comes from the code just like engine sounds do.

So the workaround for disabling the title music can't be done by deleting the "title0" file, it would only revert to the default music. Instead, an empty mp3 file of that title would do the trick. How to create an empty mp3 file, you might ask? Now here's the major trick: You don't have to use sound recording software for that. Any program will do, even Notepad! Just create a new file, open the File menu, Save As, into the File Name box type"title0.mp3" (without the quotes) and finally select All Files from the Save As Type dropdown menu. The last one is critical for the trick to work. The result will be a
