ive never heard of or seen a black Mountain Lion.....I guess it could happen....but it would be extremely rare......(so rare it never happens :-)

130 lbs is small for a jag(depends on age)....but I would put money it was a Jag and Not a Mountain lion...and that itself is rare enough....Jags that far N.
I've heard a lot of people around here claiming to have seen large black cats (a black panther). People who are close friends of mine that I know are credible. That being said all the cougars I have seen were normal coloration, ok all two of them :D, but one was very dark. For sure not black but he/she a dark brown and I saw it in the afternoon. Perhaps at dusk or under moonlight it would appear black. I'll ask them next time I see them the time of day they saw it.

I lived in Florida most of my life and spent a lot of time running airboats all over. Most of the time in the Lake Cypress to River ranch area. Most of my airboating was at night and got real lucky once to spot a Florida panther. Once in twenty years.

But I did run across something that kind of buggered me once. Found half an eaten pig (hog) about 20 feet in a tree. I have shot a few of these and I estimated this thing to be in the 200 pound range if the missing half was still around.

That being said, I have no clue as to how it got up there. Assumed it had to be some kind of cat but I don’t think your average FL Panther could manage that. Could be wrong. Came back the next week and found a tusk lying on the ground under the same spot so I kept it. Carcass was gone without any other trace.

On the other hand, could be a Sasquatch food preservation trick.  JK
Be careful what you shoot at. Most things
in here don't react too well to bullets.

Mountain Lions don't generally take kills into a tree. (FL panthers) are usually smaller than what you will see in Appalachians. Unlikely that one would store its kill up that high. The everglades have a huge problem with exotic species though so who knows.

Jimson have you seen one your self sir? Just curious.

In the wild? No, very few have, but then I have only seen one mountain lion in the wild and even that one I can't be sure of because it bounded away so quickly.  The confirmation that they have gotten was from G and F remote cameras and one they captured a few years ago. They named it Macho B. Big controversy because it died after release.

http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/20121209macho-b-cover-up-celebrations.html

Incidentally, not far from where it was caught, we have some acreage and my brother and wife were walking one evening and started hearing some cat growling noises. They got a little scared, and they are usually armed and not the easily scared type. Could have been a mountain lion, they never saw it, but a few weeks later they caught Macho B.

That footage is blurry, its very unlikely it has any thing to do with bigfoot. What I saw was a blob swinging out in to what appeared to be open space with no form of support then back again. It traveled in the same pattern several times which reminds me of something on a rope being pulled in a rhythmic manner. One of the problems with bigfoot becoming openly talked about now days is all the people out there that will claim shadows in trees are in fact bigfoot. ytube is full of BS videos that are either out right hoaxes or mistaken identity. Unfortunately its one of the main reasons simple bigfoot footage of a real creature will never be accepted as authentic. If it truly exits that is. I personally like physical evidence. I have ran across several videos showing what appears to by physical structures, deer kill sites, trees that have to weigh over 2000lbs stuck upside down in the soil root ball straight up etc. Using Occam's razor what your left with is that something is out there doing these things so what is it?

I kinda key into stories of animals being ripped apart. There are several reports out there of large dogs and deer being found fresh dead and riped to pieces in the south and even a few from the pacific north west. What I have never seen on the "bigfoot shows" is a test using a pig carcass to see how many pounds per square inch of pressure it would take to make that kind of damage happen. If your left with a figure, like I think you would, that is above and beyond what a normal predator could do then that in and of itself is profe that you have something of incredible strength or a sadistic hoaxer using a tractor.

ya the vid is blurry.....obviously not "Proof" but it makes me think....and the old Patterson film is messed up....the creature in that vid you can see the muscles moving under the fur....and the fact that it has a big ol set of boobs..... :O   I just dont see a suit maker making it a female.....to me that is a huge "what the hell :headscratch:"

I don't need to see something to know it exists....I did tattoo Gods name on my face and right hand  :D

I would not doubt that they are real.....there has been many animals that were "extinct" only to be found alive and well.

I also wouldn't be surprised to find out they dont exist  :lol

It's the best "monkey suit" ever created. So much so it's never been reproduced and was light years beyond 1967 special effects.

That being said, both leopards and jaguars are known to take kills into trees. There have been reports of jaguars in Mexico and other countries sagging horses for miles at a time.
And leopards frequently take 100 something gazelles into trees with out effort.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if it was either of these 2 animals to bag pulled a 200 pound hog up a tree n

One time I was in Northern California hiking by lake Shasta, and I saw saw 2'peoe running round the forest nude. Total :headscratch:nmoment

I believe that there is nothing so crazy that it can't be true.  That said, with folks on this continent having a penchant for "varmitting", which is a politically correct word for "shooting anything that doesn't require a license because...well I like to shoot stuff", it's absolutely incredible that one hasn't been brought down yet if the Yeti/Bigfoot/giganthropithicus actually exists.

Can they be SO good at hiding that they have avoided all rifle fire since the first white "Americans" and "Canadians" settled here a few hundred years back?   The only explanation would be that they only come out of whatever holes they hide in during the night, and even then, with that availability of extremely high performance light enhancing and even thermal vision systems, the odds of one being spotted and then zipped - astronomical against.

Gman one of things I've been told by hunters who have spotted it is #1 They weren't sure what they were looking at in the brief time they actually saw it. #2 Its extremely difficult to shot any thing that's walking on two legs if your a responsible hunter. #3 The only hunter I've ever talked to that thought about shooting it was scared his gun wasn't big enough to drop it. He was deer hunting and had a 12ga with buckshot. He actually got a long enough look to know it wasn't human.  I cant think of any scenario expect in the event of self protection where you would be able to make the judgment to shot one. The first thing that would cross my mind is that its another hunter wearing full body camo or some one trying to play a trick. Last thing someone wants is to take the life of another person and end up in jail as a result.

oh and as far as the paterson film goes. I always thought it was a fake given the guys back ground. When they started to subject the original color film to modern film ability like stabilizing the film enlarging areas filtering glare out etc. I still thought it was a fake. Then I saw a very small isolated clip that enlarged the breast area for 4 frames. They actual had a organic bounce to them and very human looking nipples. It is either the best damn faked video with the photographer looking to the future of what wasn't possible at the time with film and what would be possible 40 years later or its real. Hell why even have nipples on a suit that wasn't supposed to be seen that clearly in his original video?
