Bigfoot is based off fact. A real animal called giganthropithicus lived as little as 300,000 years ago. It's a big forest with plenty of places to hide. who knows if it still exists, but when people like Les Stroud claim to have encountered a Ape in the woods of Alaska, its hard not to believe that a few could still be around.

"Well now, you'll be amazed when I tell you that I'm sure that they exist" - Dr. Jane Goodall

Les went to the same high school as I did, although he's a few years younger than me I knew him as a teenager.

That said I'm of the school that has to see it to believe it,any substantial proof would do. If they could find bones, fur or skin and do DNA to prove it wasn't exactly human then maybe.

I respect Les and Dr Goodall, they have their views on the subject but I need to see the evidents myself.

where they literally riped apart or just scratched clawed up?
I had one old guy tell me a story about his dog in north Texas. He was walking his land checking his deer feeding stations for deer sign when his dog started growling and acting agitated at something in the thicket. Dog bolted after it, he could hear a large animal moving rapidly, then he herd a large sound that he described as the sound of a large punch, meaty impact sound. He tried to recall the dog with no success and wasn't willing to go into the wood looking for it because he wasn't armed. He drove back to the house on his property to get a gun and go look for his dog. The dog was already back there laying on the front porch. It was missing its lower jaw and he had to put it down. According to him the dog had no other injury's to it.

i dont know what is harder to imagine. That big foot exists or that a man in Texas was walking his land and had no guns on him or his truck  :rofl

Flench you ever hunt the honey island swamp area In south MS LA border?  I grew up in the woods when I was younger spent years in the woods and never encountered any thing like I did that time and the year after. Never saw what it was and honestly was glad I didn't. Ive never encountered anything like that since, but after the second year none of us ever went back to that area either. Fished the area a few times but all during the day time with only day trips in no over nights. I was young so easy to scare I guess although I had encountered wild boar and a large cat once that made me weary and nervous but not scared.Damn boar kept me in a tree for over an hour. Keep in mind the men I was with were firefighters and also all hunters they don't scare easy. Was it bigfoot I honestly don't know but it was something that didn't act like a animal normally would around a hunting camp. If it was a person he would have had to have night goggles which I don't think existed on the privet market back then. No way to walk around in that kind of dark without a light source with cypress knees all over the place without breaking your leg.

Do you mind telling me about the circumstances that led to two of your dogs deaths. Was there any trail sign around the site etc? If your uncomfortable telling the story here could you Pm me with it please? Oh and as far as shooting at it, even in MS if I got a look at it my first thought would be a another hunter in a Gilly suit. Hard to point your gun at something that walks on two legs.

Are you listening to yourself?  You never saw what it was and you never encountered anything like that ( the thing you never saw  :headscratch: ) therefore, it was bigfoot  :O

what is wrong with you people?

Honestly never said it was and said I didn't know what it was. Did you read the original post? Guess I could just shrug and say oh well its unexplainable and leave it at that. Lots of unexplainable things in that area though over the years. Lots of differant story's from lots of differant sources. I cant explain it any other way and with a lot of other story's out there relating a lot of similarity's to my encounter its what I think we could have possibly encountered but no I'm still not totally sure that's the case.

The beertender looks at me and says, "yeah that's Bob Nailers place. He has two of them, they're his pets"  :o

I have been there surfinn . I have hunted all over MS . Why I live in a national forest now . People are scared to come down at night . Me , I can sleep all day in the wood's here . The only thing that I am scared of are the snake's . No telling what it was . Like I said I had two bad to the bone dog's killed but they could not shoot a gun . Never could train them to do that .
We need to hook up and go to where you had your experience and spend a week . I have around 30 trail cameras we could put out and if we get it on film we well be put in the history books . It was probable a black panther . I figure that's what killed my dog's . There was no track's the hole area was torn up to bad . Even had dog gut's hanging in a tree about head high .

EDIT: uptown , white deer are pretty norm around here . I just never would kill one .

I don't know if you know this or not but black panthers are supposed to be a cryptid. According to the state they don't exist. There is a standing reward of 10,000$ in the state of MS to anyone who produces proof of one. Saw a dead one when I was a kid it weighed 130 pounds the neighbors hunted it down because it was killing neighborhood dogs. Oh and I wouldn't think a Panther would dismember a dog btw a bear maybe but I've never herd of one of them totally dismembering one either unless it was trying to eat them. Was it day time when it happened were you running them and if so what were you hunting at the time? Did you hear the confrontation between the dogs and what they were chasing?

I shot at one in a tree until I ran out of ammo back in the 80's . I could see it good in my scope but it was to far away for my 270 . So I know there here or maybe just passing through . The last year I ran dog's father shot at one crossing the road but missed it .
We were deer hunting . I had two pack's of walker dog's . The dog's had been running it all day untill it crossed the road . I caught the dog's and dumped a fresh batch on it what ever it was . Then they must have caught it . All hell broke out but by the time I got to them it was a mess .

I was editing my last post when you replied. I'm not even sure if the area is still woods now. Where my old house was, was considered the woods when I was a kid and last time I was there about 10 years ago its all been developed in a major way. Does that honestly sound like a big cat or a bear to you? Did any of the other dogs have injury's that gave you the impression it was a big cat?  Not saying it was bigfoot but man it sounds weird ,especially with dog parts in the tree yet no treed cat when you got there.

That kind of happen to me . Why I got some land on the border of the national forest to build my house on so no one can build around me . All my own . All I see is a lost hunter about once a year . Game warden's came and got me 4 year's ago (some of the muppets mite remember this) to go look for the guy . After 8 hour's I found him drunk under a tree about 4 in the morning . Dude had no idea where he was  ,lol but that's another story .

I still don't know what killed those dog's . Had to be big and bad to kill a 150 pound dog's . None of the other ones were hert but they were not killer's like my best dog's were .
