Lakes That should not be there!
« on: August 08, 2013, 01:51:39 PM »
:airplane: On the map we were having all the problems yesterday, there are 2 lakes by V-145 and V-146, which are not shown on the clipboard map. Some of the guys attacking V-146 with me could see the lakes and some could not!

2nd Problem...took off in B-26's from A144, had no needle on airspeed, altitude, rate of climb. The Instruments were in the right positions, but had no needles on them...after a few minutes, I begin to notice the needles from the instruments all at the bottom of the panel.
Blue Skies and wind at my back and wish that for all!!!

Clipboard maps are nothing more than an image created by whoever created the terrain, so can contain (or not contain) anything the artist wants. "Invisible" lakes are a result of a combination of your graphics settings and the terrain type under the water. Here's a sample of different settings and what the "water" looks like - it's old, but still valid. The terrain texture under the water is not the default "deep ocean" like most of the ocean on maps is.

My Current Rig:
GigaByte GA-X99-UD4 Mobo w/ 16Gb RAM
Intel i7 5820k, Win7 64-bit
NVidia GTX 970 4Gb ACX 2.0
Track IR, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Pedals
