I'm proud to say I don't watch X-Factor, American Idol, The Voice, Dancing with the Stars or any of that mind rot.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Ok, I admit there is a lot of wannabe talent on these, but there are also some highly talented people.  You have to ignore the ones that aren't so good and focus on the real talent.  Just listening to that 2nd link I posted (Hallelujah song) makes it more than worthwhile to have the TV on when playing Aces High.  :joystick:

Carly Rose was thirteen :O ... just a kid, and she moves those judges and the audience like a seasoned recording artist with her singing. LA Reid especially... and did you see Britney's reactions? :rock  She did get a record contract and is working on her first album.

Talent is worth admiring and respecting in any endeavor. :old:

The problem is there's a whole lot of chaff and very little wheat on those kinda shows.

Well, my original post shows you some of the wheat.  Awesome song and sung very very well.  Youtube is also great for finding the best performances.

I ignore most of these shows too 90% of the time, but have them on while playing... when somebody really good shows up, I'll gladly be towered to enjoy the few minutes of inspiring talent.

Here are two more that gave me goosebumps.  I admit these also made my eyes water like everyone else in the room.  I'm certain that 90% of the people that watch these two will justifiably :cry

Some comments in the comments section:

"The most amazing performance I have ever seen! I all of the sudden feel lucky to be a 33yr old with mom and dad still here!"

"I am smiling and crying. I love you Mom and Dad."

Let’s take a look again at Secretariat’s lineage to get a real life example, since we know him to be a carrier from his 22-pound heart. Secretariat’s dam was a mare named Something Royal, and her sire, Princequillo, is considered one of modern racing’s primary carriers of the x factor gene, but only his daughters will make foals with the enlarged heart. Writer and founder of the theory, Marianna Haun, originally traced Princequillo’s X factor as far back as a mare born in 1837, named Pocahontas. After verifying Pocahontas with scientific researchers, veterinarians, and TB breeders, they were able to take the line even further back, first to famous stud Eclipse born in 1764, and then finally to the very earliest traceable ancestor who carried the large heart gene, Hautboy, one of the founding thoroughbred bloodlines in the mid-seventeenth century.
