Thanks. Been looking to pick up Battlefield 3 for a while now. Though I still can't play it, as my gaming machine is XP.  :lol

I was hoping to wait for HL3 before I built a new rig. Probably not the best idea, but I haven't been interested in any other new titles. With the new consoles coming out, though, that will probably change.

I wouldn't bother with BF3 at least on multiplayer. It's way too buggy to be playable. I deleted my BF3 account, got sick of the networking bugs.

Nonsense, I've been playing it since release, agreed the net code isn't perfect or as accurate as say...Counterstrike, but it's still playable and enjoyable. No lag issue for me, extremely little hackers, I've ran into maybe 2-3 during the last 2 years.

It's no nonsense. I've found many people experiencing similar problems to mine. Some people just accept them as they are, I choose not to.

Even though I could (on most days) end up in the top 2 of matches, I got sick and tired to the bugs in the game which made the game seem like the enemy always kills me with the first hit, instantly and my own shots wouldn't kill on first hit even if I hit them clearly on the head on hardcore.

It was so bad that for me the only difference with playing normal or hardcore was that on hardcore also my hits did some more damage, the enemy still killed on first hit even on normal side as a norm. In the end I found myself using M98B only because 1 shot 1 kill was the easyest way to survive even in close combat. If I had to put off a second or third round full auto I most often than not was already dead at that point.

This is in large contrast to Call of duty on which I had no such problems and it was much more enjoyable to play.

When I played the beta it was so horrible that I chose not to buy the game then. I could literally sneak behind a player, point him to the back of the head from 1 meter away and start shooting. After some time of shooting to the back of his head the enemy realizes he's under attack, turns around and kills me with 1 shot.

This is BF3... and I don't call BS like that fun.

I've got to agree with Riply on BF here, and not just BF3. In general I experience the same issue in all the Battlefield series. I shoot them several times, they turn around and shoot me once with a pistol and I die. It's a good deal regardless of your stance on BF. I picked it up myself.

Sounds like you guys have your own connection or gameplay issues, never had a problem in either BF1942, BFBC2, or BF3.
