Tailslide Tutorial: How to fly sideways!

Can't tail slide in a P38, due to the counter prop rotation

You can do a tailslide in a P-38 in this game.  It's not hard at all, just need to extend your zoom to the point of stall and you can pretty much let gravity do the work for you, the only thing you need to do is keep the nose up as you start to slide downward on your tail and then just let your nose flip over as you slide downwards.  Just like in this maneuver diagram.

Exactly.  This is nothing more than a flight model loophole.  In the old days of Aces High this was not possible but became easily done whe the FM was changed around 2007/08

On the right side of the film viewer you'll see 4 boxes you can check: guncam, icons, use redorded views, and trails.   Trails will show you the paths.

Good tutorial and especially good that you emphasized the limited use of this move.

This is not really a maneuver, but I'm not really agreeing with Nath either. This is more of a departure stall, into a secondary stall. In other words, it's a screw up that might save you, except it's actually two screw ups in a row.

So, you might dub it the double-pork, or you might just look up "over the top stall." Just saying.

It is difficult to explain what inputs are needed for which moves but I will say the best and most effective ones use very short crisp movements that snap the plane into said stall / slide, then regain control.  It still takes countless hours of practice and experience to perform perfect stall turns, slides and whips.  Also the timing and application of each loop and stall.   Attempting it at the wrong time or wrong separation from your opponent can have very different outcomes.

I guess what I'm saying is be a one trick pony at your peril.
