Getting perkies for ground obj is really unbalancing...
« on: January 27, 2001, 05:39:00 AM »
Salute aces,

Ok, HT stated many times that the perk system was there to keep the things in balance (e.g. after introducing Ueberplanes). With Air-2-Air fighter perkies everythings alright, well you might argue about the different ENY values but there's a quite reasonable scale.

But all this balance is thrown over board by the OBJ value - every figher in the set has the same OBJ value from 202 to CHog; now think: how much more damage can a Chog do to some ground structure than a 202??? Why bother taking up a early war, underpowered and undergunned plane with highery ENY rating though, when you can get 80 (EIGHTY) perkies in one sortie by leveling the enemy training grounds??? People amass fighter-perkies with Jabo sorties (see latest "Loose Rivets")... that's not the idea is it?

And once more LW is severly hampered with this strategy since our planes cannot carry more than one bomb (ridiculous) and gun effectivness against structures was downgraded severly... (ah yes WGr do not work against ground obj anymore - they were fun to deack before)

What I want to say is: No fighter-perkies for ground objects!!! or at least apply a scale similar to the ENY rating...

I don't think that there should be no Fighter Perk Points for ground objects, but I do think that the points should scale based on each fighter's capabilities against ground objects.

Fighter perk points should only be given for shooting up fighters, otherwise its esy to rack them up by blowing up defensless ground units. That way you earn your tempest by being a food fighter and not just strafing a bunch of shacks and tents.

Why should a person not be allowed to earn fighter perks by doing ground strikes?

If the points awarded were proportional to the aircraft being used's abilities at ground attack I don't see a problem with this.

If he is a no skill person that gets his perk fighter this way, he's hardly going to be a threat with it.

Ground stikes are important and should be encouraged.  The best way to encourage them is by giving a reward for a successful ground strike.

Add the attack points to the bomber perk points.

and change the eny of the planes for ground attack. Right now all are at 25.

How about splitting the "Attack" points between Fighters and Bombers?
