I was messing about in a custom arena and turned fog visibility to max and then set dusk / dawn time.
Got yarbles to come in and told him to dive straight down at the ground. Needless to say he made a nice lawndart straight into the ground. (I did exactly the same and flying on instruments was the only way of diving through it and having enough time to pull out)
Fog doesn't seem to effect FPS one bit so why do the clouds have more of an effect? I guess they have more shapes to them but the Fog most definitely made our flying experience that little more chilling.
Bruv,
I don't dispute weather having an effect, even a good one as far as immersion is concerned but to have the ability to turn on/off as a user ability would just lead to unfair advantages. I know I did this myself at 1 time long ago.
As for mirrors well I'd like to see them added because I use a 55 inch monitor and with zoom I bet my mirror would be close to most players screen size! However,I don't think it would really help as I'd likely only see a dot in the mirror if I could see anything at all.
My eyesight leaves plenty to be desired,I was actually legally blind for a couple years and had to give up flying completely,I was able to get implants so I can see well enough to drive now, although I'm sure I need corrective lenses because it's becoming more and more difficult to see.
