You are absolutely brilliant Festurd. You cannot even comprehend the English language. Clearly, you never finished high school.

What I see in this thread, after my request for more direction from Hitech, is a bunch of negative comments by people that think AHII sucks. I mean, you even came out and said so. Then you attacked someone (me) for offering to help. You attacked a very simple submission that has nothing to do with my work, because you do not understand that is the default tool for character rigging and manipulation. That makes you look brilliant!

It's obvious that none of you really want to see HTC improve AHII. Well, sucks to be you!

Even if HTC does not uses characters and rigs, I will demonstrate them in future films. Enjoy!

thats the real problem isn't it.

you havent even shown anyone anything but insults.

AH is the best combat sim ever made but its graphics are suffering badly. that was the point of my posts.

You are taking attacks on yourself as attacks on the game and its improvement when the truth is you have not posted anything that suggests you have anything available that will improve the game and have been lampooned for this yet are unable to see this.

AH is in good hands as it has been since 1999. the way you speak of yourself comes off as if you believe you are the best thing to ever happen to this game and you and your efforts are the savior of aces high.

you are a great source of entertainment at the moment for a lot of people and that is thus far your greatest contribution to the game.

So much love in this thread

I don't think such a crappy mesh will do anything to improve AH graphics

Having a discussion with some players on vox, just talking about the game, the graphics issue eventually came up.  Spikes made a very good point, that with the size of the arena, and the fact that such large areas need to be rendered, you would need some serious super computer to run the game with such a large arena if you increased the visual graphics load by much.

I'm no expert in graphics, rendering, not even a casual interested observer.  So, I can't comment on the accuracy of the statement, but I believe it to be true and valid, and from what I've read from HT's responses on the subject, not far if at all off the mark.  So, that being the case, there is really two options - have a large world to fly around in, and an advanced flight model, or have a game with pretty terrain/sky/effects, yet have a much smaller patch to play in.  Like as in WAY smaller than the current maps.  I for one can forgo the pretty lights and amazing visuals new graphics could give the game, if the trade off would have to be a tiny map with everyone squashed in together in small space.  Will technology eventually allow us to have cake, and eat it as well?  I hope so, but if I understand the issue correctly, that just isn't possible right now with current gaming PC's.  If that's incorrect, I'd love to see a new graphics engine in AH, but I wouldn't want it to be at the expense of the rest of the game as it stands.

I've got pretty much one of the top 2 CPU's in terms of speed in both my systems now, and 780's and SLI setups, and at max settings on 144hz monitors, if I crank the reflections to max, I can chug down into the 40's FPS wise when it gets busy near me.  That being the case, what would better graphics to do average systems I wonder.  Likely nothing to make those players very happy.

Hey, you started it out in this thread. You get what you give. Pretty much you have only demonstrated that you cannot keep a train-of-thought, and you are not intellectually honest. End of story.

The problems in AHII don't have anything to do with graphics. You can change the art and get the same performance (well, HTC can). The clouds that the other sims use are a method of hiding the limited view range. In AH clouds obscure icons, which leads to killshooter in slower systems, and maybe fast ones too. I generally know the dot I'm chasing is enemy or not.

The problem I see is game design, and a ground war that needs to be examined for inconsistencies. Right now you either fight half of either opposing teams entire country, or you fight them all. That has to be fixed. The other issue involves reports the tank guys are making concerning armor bugs. We have one guy in our squad that usually kills 600-1000 people each month. Yet, he isn't having fun because of what he sees as the inconsistent armor. If there is a real problem there then I would like to see that fixed.

As to Infantry: I would to make a choice when I select my aircraft (I think everyone should, too). I would like to chose between rifleman, Panzerfaust, Thompson, and maybe a few other roles. When an M3 has a few troops shot then a pilot would have the option of bailing and helping with the capture. Personally, I doubt I would ever use it, but I think the war would get a lot more interesting.

Outside of that I would like to hear what Hitech has in mind.

anything 3d you could make in "class" they can buy on the open market for about 30 bucks or less. :)

the problem is not 3d models.

the problem is a graphics engine that is completely obsolete with no replacement in public sight.

want to acomplish somthing?

learn to program efficient realistic 3d engines and you will make a living.

if your telling mom and dad that spending all their money on 3d game modelling because your special and really good...

nah keep thinking that you will be fine.

Fester, A guy posts some update on a model he's working on in response to an HTC request, and you go off on him, insulting his educational choices, and personal abilities just so you can turn this into a "AH graphics need to be updated thread."

Geez, man dial it down.  :salute

This is really gotten off the rails.  Too many violations of forum posting rule #4 to salvage it.
