Last weekend, the war in Europe took on a new level of intensity as the Luftwaffe assaulted the Southern coastline near Dover.
The successful elimination of the defensive fleet and its supporting port industry, along with poking holes in the coastal radar, was a clear indication of the Axis forces intention.
The RAF called up its forces, knowing all too well what was to come. The Luftwaffe rallied an ever growing force and had committed to a long term assault and invasion.
Today, that assault continued with a vengeance. The Luftwaffe launched a major multi pronged assault against RAF airfields with the intention of controlling the airspace. In a blazing battle, 6 airfields have been completely closed for flight, and the LW continued the forward march to dismantle the RAF's ability to fend off a full invasion. The RAF battled back hard, causing serious and significant damage to the LW aircraft.
The Luftwaffe, however, does not have unlimited time to accomplish their goals. The RAF will fight, and will rebuild if given too much time to do so. The Luftwaffe has 2 more weekends to remove the airfields and pave the way for the upcoming occupation.
Should they leave so much as a single fighter hanger standing, the plans will fail and the LW command faces unknown punishment. There is desperation to succeed on the side of the Luftwaffe, and a fight for their very homes and way of life staring down the RAF pilots.
Virtually 1/3 of the airfields of the RAF have been taken out of the fight, pushing the RAF into a very difficult position. With the ability to secure 1/3 of the fields, and enough time for 2 more attempts, preliminary calculations suggests victory is balanced on a very sensitive scale.
One bomb missed. One bomber survives. It can easily come down to a single pilot, at the last minute. The battle is growing, with more pilots showing up than Frame 1. The action is intense, don't miss out. There is still time to attend, walkons are always welcome!
