Maximum rated altitude of a given aircraft was not the typical combat altitude.  The requirement is stupid.

How many Spit XIVs do you think engaged at 43,000ft?  The low blown engines in the Spitfire LF.Mk IX and LF.Mk VIII were not so they could fight while gasping for air at 35,000ft.  Mosquito Mk VI's rarely broke 20,000ft and not uncommonly didn't break 5,000ft.

The maximum altitude thing is absurd.

You've made 3 comments which seems to indicate interest.

Since you have the time to make at least 3 comments, how about you better use that time to show up and duel?
:rofl It would be my honor, but please no fake historical references. I'll be on this weekend.

I am lazy and get bored easily, IceCream.  How about this?

- I'll climb to 5K.

- You climb however high you need to feel safe, warm and is an adequate handicap given your limits.

Once you are feeling like you do at night when you are wearing your sexy flannel nightee,  come on down and fight.  I'll be waiting with open arms and huggies!

Smooches and lollypops!

I'm there now.......voice chat channel 201.

Leave your anger at the forums where it belongs.

This is supposed to be fun.

We can throw out ridiculous altitudes like the spitfire 46,000 foot battle over london but I would like to stay near the altitudes that our heros fought.

If robert johnson said he encountered 190s at 29,000 feet, then that is an agreeable altitude.......we can negotiate but I just don't want to end up dueling in a Spit XIV or TA152 with initial merge being at 2000 feet AGL.

Um...now?  I'm at work.

Again, you go ahead and fly up as high as you wish.  I'm sure those heros of old would have pounced on the chance to kill a Jerry below them at 5K.

A duel is about shooting the other guy down, not running him out of fuel.

jeez this thread is for the retarded, I duel at 10k and let the other person choose the 5 aircrafts, 25% Fuel and same loadout.
No way in hell im spending more then 15 minutes on an entire duel, let alone climbing to Short bus alt just for a fight.

Take it from me, I lose most of the duels, take your bellybutton handing and learn from it, not force others to fly your way.
