Ground Detail slider

I wish the Ground Detail Range slider could be extended to 6 or 8 miles.

I asked Hitech if the range could be extended back when it was being beta tested and the answer I got was along the lines of it isn't doable unfortunately.
Whether that means that it wasn't possible then, or it wasn't possible at all, or any other details I am not sure.  I would like to see it extended myself, it looks strange suddenly ending the way it does.

Or at least have it fade out instead of the sudden unrealistic stop.
