Downloading content directly in AH (skins/gunsights/terrains/missions)

Maybe I'm missing something, but wouldn't it be nice if you could see the downloadable content on the AH website and select/download them directly from the game? Would cut out a few steps and also encourage creating an "official" online database to download the addons rather than going to 3rd party websites for some of the material. Kind of line an "app store"

aside from skins (which auto download now), what would you be thinking about downloading?  if it's something like gunsights and sounds, that is better left the way it is...

I was thinking gunsights and missions specifically in addition to skins. In any case the AH download section seems incomplete/disorganized for the gunsights and missions imho

that's why there are forum sections dedicated to such content...notice that all existing downloads are controlled and checked by htc, the other stuff would just add another headache for Skuzzy.

I understand where he is coming from and that is why I will say a big +1 to this idea.

Not so sure how to make it work with things other than Skins or missions, but think about a scenario or even a mission. Leader says "We will lift in xxx skin" but you don't have it. Do you agree that it would be nice, instead of having to leave the game, download skin then log back in (Impossible in the case of a scenario where the arena locks), you simply go to hanger, click on the skin and click download?

The plus side to this over what we have now with the auto downloading is this would allow you to instantly pick and choose the skin you want. Auto download simply downlaods them all, so if you are wanting a TBM skin, you have to wait for a looooong time to get it. This option would rectify this issue.

They do not even need to be mutually exclusive. Have Auto downloads as well, but when you want a particular skin you can just download it immediatly.

As I mentioned, not sure how this would work with other things, but it currently works for missions in Custom Arenas so it could work for skins.

he's wanting to add to what is currently found under the game downloads and be able to browse everything that is downloadable from within the game, not just going to the hangar and picking something like a skin. which incidentally, i would definitely like to be able to go into the hangar and pick a skin to download rather than the 2 methods we have now.

i think there are a couple of special events maps that have skins embedded in them...
