Congrats.

You can get lots of cheap ammo in 7.62x54.  Shoot the fire out of it.     :rock

I dont have any pics atm. But what i do know is thats its a russian mosin. I think its from wwii as it has 1942 stamped on the gun only paid 170 for it and it came with a couple houndred rounds of ammo. Yes it fires

sounds like you may have yourself a nagant. what ammo does it use? 7.62x54r? that's what they use. mine's dated 1943. you'll like it.

don't worry 'bout the spelling nazis....just post us up some pics sir.

yes it is...anyone who owns guns and cannot spell in their native language, should be shot with said guns before they hurt someone else.

that would be the end of the redneck race :).

Welcome to the Wood & Iron Club!  :aok

I have quite a collection myself, being a C&R FFL holder I often surf Guns America and Gun Broker.com.
Target shooting and C&R comps are actually one of my passions. This is me with my trusty Finnish M39 Nagant and my wife shooting her Cold War era Yugoslav AK-47. It has a machined receiver and teak wood stock and grips. No cheap Chinese junk in our gun safe!

I was lucky enough to get in to firearms as a hobby back in the early 1990's.  I paid $100 for my first Enfield, a WWI vintage No 1 Mk III, I sold it for triple that a few years ago.  Now I have a nice WWII No 4 Mk I.  I also have a Russian Mosin Nagant, a Finnish Mosin Nagant, a French Mas 36, Italian Carcano 6.5mm, an Arisaka Type 98 with all markings intact, a German k98 with all markings intact, a Garand, and a few others I'm forgetting.  I also collect WWII handguns and so far my favorite is the Webley .38.   :aok

When my dad was in high school in the early 1960's, he said there were hardware stores that had barrels full of M1 Carbines and Garands for $25.  More than once his dad picked up a rifle or carbine and debated on buying it (this g'pa was a jeep jockey in ETO).  Oh how I wish g'pa would have bought as many as he could have snuck past g'ma.   :D

Nice. I have an Arisaka with an intact mum too. Its a 7th Series Nagoya Arsenal. I won it at an estate auction for $30. Back when I was a young lad in the early mid 80s you could go to the Woolworths and find Garands, 03 Springfields and Enfields in open display racks for sale

The Mosin Nagant is an excellent rifle, with an amazing and rich history. Last weekend my 10 year old son fired my Mosin for the first time. He loved it, and ended up shooting over 70 rounds. :rock

Shot from benchrest at 50 yards. Not bad for a little guy  :)

Did you have to amputate afterwords? That could be considered child abuse in some states...  :rofl  :salute
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

The Yugo AKs are excellent, well made. However, I have a 1993 vintage Norinco MAK-90 that matches my Arsenal SAM7R (AK) in accuracy and has proven to be even more reliable (the Arsenal sometimes fails to extract cleanly). No, they are not a nicely machined and the wood is crap. They do, however, shoot very well....

The Lee-Enfield .303 No.4 is my fave rifle of all the ones I have fired.

Congrats on using the freedom my country sorely lacks  :(
