Heading to Knoxville to watch the Vols play this weekend if that counts

How many in your league? Is it a standard scoring system or custom?

If McFadden can stay healthy, even for just a little while, we could see flashes of his former self, and when he's on he's great...

I like the draft of Tate with those other guys, you may very need him. One of the things I saw overlooked this year was DJackson's sos, easiest schedule for any starting WR, as much as I despise his antics, he may prove to be very valuable.

Another thing I see overlooked is all this talk about RBush. Yeah he was great the past two years, great on real grass, will we see the ole Reggie now that he's back on turf? If we do, JBell is a good replacement if there aren't better RB's on the waiver wire.

12 teams, 6pts passing TD. 1pt per 25 passing yds. Everything else standard.
Reason I took Bell is because Bush is more of a trickster when I saw him play in NOLA. He never lowers his shoulder and has always played skiddish. We will see how he does I suppose.
I hate DJackson personally, but he scores points. While the Eagles aren't exactly a winning team, he gets enough points to make him worth keeping in. If Vick can work some magic this year, he should be worthwhile.

thunda, as much as I'd love to put Moore in, I'm not sure if I can right now. NOLA still faces the problem of having 7-8 different receivers that get thrown to. Although in recent years, Moore has become a favorite target of Brees. Obviously the two above that are Graham, who will be double covered (ish), and Colston, who will be in the same situation. Moore may very well be a starting WR for me this year. He always seems to be consistent. BTW, I am a Saints fan also.

For a 12 team league with the draft roster I'd say you did very well.

what a start! For those of you that chose P Manning you've got a head start. 7 TD's, most in by a QB in fantasy history!  In two of my leagues that was worth 88pts alone and ~73pts in another.

One week does not make a season though, for those of us who had P Manning on this weeks opponents teams (2 of my 3) it's a long season. The sky isn't falling at 0-1...

Oh my this one is a nightmare, and probably a fantasy for my opponent where I'm forced into this:

In this league 2qb's are started, I'm forced to start one of these guys:  Geno Smith vs Falcons, Gabbert vs Rams, or Fitzpatrick vs Chiefs.  Some guys in my league blocked me from getting a better backup and this is what is left...who would you choose for this week only?

1pt for 10yds passing, 6pts for TD, -3 for Int

I don't understand what you mean.

Handcuffed is a fantasy term that means that as an insurance policy you need to have both guys in case of injury, etc. to the better player.

Julio Jones is the WR on the other side, and will best RWhite's career statistics if he plays (healthy) for the same career length, i.e. Julio Jones is more talented.


Tip #3   Read your scoring settings very carefully and don't worry about what other ppl's strategies are. If you get the 9th pick in a league where QB's aren't very important yet 4QB's are off the board, what do you care. It's the top RB's (esp. PPR) that you need anyways. All things relative to scoring format.

Now you know what I meant.   Overrated.   I am first in my Dynasty League.   $7500 for 1st place.   So yeah,  I know about a little about football.   Been in it for six years now.   I inherited a team that was put together horribly.   Through smart drafting I have won 1st place three times and 2nd place twice.

It all depends on the scoring format.

Handcuffing is a strategy for certain types of players and often best suited for certain types of scoring formats.

Some leagues allow the backup to accumulate points for their starter if the starter goes down and they own the handcuff. I don't play in any leagues like that.

IMO, handcuffing is also a strategy to cover some bases for very high value players who happen to have a backup that is very high value. Ex: Foster and Ben Tate. This can also be done so that losing said player doesn't allow a fellow member to dismantle your team because you now have need, ex: someone else owns Ben Tate, Foster goes down, and now they want to trade you Ben Tate for your remaining super stars. At the end of the day though, ask several ppl and you'll get differing answers as to what "handcuffing" means to them. Again, all relative to the league's format.


Anyhow, question remains, Geno Smith, Gabbert or Fitzpatrick tomorrow? IMO conservative play is Fitzpatrick, and Geno Smith is the upside play with more risk.
