Great weekend ahead
« on: October 08, 2013, 07:52:16 AM »
On Saturday the family is playing in the Family Championship at our club.  Fun 9 holes of golf with the whole crew.  Thankfully my daughter is still under 10 so she will be hitting her drives from the 150 yard markers.  This makes all the par 4 and particularly the par 5s quite a bit easier for the team (aka ME)  :)

On Sunday I pick up my boat buddy and we head up to Port Royal Golf Course for a practise round for the Grand Slam ProAm.

Mike is playing in it, I am his looper, but I have been told to bring my clubs on Sunday in case I have a chance to play.  I don't really care if I do in fact, because that would make my day a bit hectic.  I am trying to actually be of some value to Mike in the tournament so I have one of those flip chart yardage books which also has the green slope graphs.  It will be tough to play and do everything I need to do on the greens, but we'll see.  My GoPro is going to get a workout that day for sure.  They may not let me use it on Monday.

Sunday night is a big cocktail reception and dinner for the event.  It is a great chance to meet and schmooze with the players and their families.  My goal is to meet Jason Duffner's wife.  :)

Monday Mike plays the ProAm.  Turns out I won't even be carrying his bag, the local guys get carts, so I will be driving him around the course.  LOL  A great lazy day out with the Pros.

Life will be good, as long as the weather is. :D

My view for most of the day lol :

Whatcha hittin 'der mate?

Michael Breed was also in my buddy's group and he was a lot of fun, this is him teeing off on 16.

he's the guy in the cool pants:

It was a whole lot of fun playing caddy for the day, I tried to give my friend the best experience I could provide given that he insisted on having me tag along.  I did end up carrying his darn bag though...DOH!  I hateses it now precious.....the round took 7 hours!!!  lol  But I did it, had the clubs ready for him before he needed them, had a towel for wiping them off and cleaning off his ball, took some vids and pics and tracked his ball and yardage constantly.  He was chuffed as hell that I was his beyotch the whole day. :)  Great experience though, I'd do it again in a second.  Hell, I'd quit and go caddy for the rest of my career if I could.
