What's a navigation aid? (Sorry to be so dense.)
In offline mode, it's that compass in the lower left corner of the CBM/Kneeboard map. To disable it, you must go into the arena setting for each terrain and disable it, then save the settings so it doesn't appear again the next time you open that particular terrain. It isn't global, so you must do it for each and every terrain on your hard drive.
