I have this http://www.zotacusa.com/geforce-gtx-580-zt-50101-10p.html Im thinking of selling. Im wondering, what is different about the Zotac card from the other EVGA GTX580s? Thanks.

Never heard of Zotac before but EVGA has a good reputation for making video cards.

Zotac is a tier 4 or 5 econo brand that also makes oem components. evga is considered a tier 1 retail component manufacturer. it boils down to their internal mfg processes and individual component suppliers.

Hmmm, thats funny cause I thought only EVGA made the card, which I thought was sitting inside my case.

I now have an actual EVGA GTX, a 780, so this card is just sitting around and im trying to come up with a fair price for it. Im not to worried about getting top dollar as I dont have the shipping case. But its been a wonderful card that hasnt been gamed much on.

The Zotac Geforce 580 cards start around $250, so $200 or less for a used one would be a fair price.

Evga was the original manufacturer of Nvidia video cards and has never built anything but Nvidia cards just as ATI was the original manufacturer of AMD cards and builds only AMD cards.  Both Nvidia and AMD licence technology to other manufacturers who build off the same core chip designs although manufacturing processes, components and quality may differ greatly.

I've always bought Evga.  In most cases they offer a lifetime warranty.  Without actually checking I'd be surprised if Zotac would warranty past a year.

i thought pny was the original nvidia graphics vendor since they partnered with nvidia a year or two before evga was founded. can't remember since it's been a long while.

and ati didn't build amd products, they were the manufacturer of ati graphics chips. amd acquired ati in 2006 and has since taken over production of ati technologies as well as phasing out the ati name and all trademarks.

completely false. both were separate entities until the acquistion. amd (advanced micro devices) was exclusively a processor manufacturer and ati (array technologies industry) was exclusively a graphics chip manufacturer.
