Bomber accuracy at high altitudes

I think it is a bit silly that a single set of WWII era bombers can climb to 35k+ (As was the case last night with MrMag00's B-17's) and still hit targets with the same precision that one would expect from a B-1 Lancer dropping laser guided ordnance today.

I know that there are compromises made to make the game more bomber friendly, but I think it would be reasonable to add wind at altitudes of 20k+ to degrade bomber accuracy at high altitude. I think this would provide a fair balance between survivability vs bombing accuracy.

there is usually wind at a couple of alts in the arena...if you turn on the wind indicators on the clipboard you will see the arrows. doesn't change bombing accuracy though because of the auto-calibration, and they aren't going to make people manually calibrate in the main arenas.

Don't see why not.. They get everything else on easy mode.

I think bomb accuracy should get worse the higher up the bomber is.  There are more variables at play and hence the "spread" should be bigger.  I believe that currently there is, or at least there seems to be, a penalty for dropping ords at high altitudes.  I notice this when I drop the 50 kg bombs from the He111 on the city at the strategic complex (6 bombs on each city block).  The spread seems to be bigger at 20,000 ft than it is while at 10,000.  Not much, if any, but there seems to be some.

I'd like to hear HTC's comments on how altitude affects bombing accuracy, if at all.  Hearing it straight from them is always better.

you can test the bomb spread in the ta at the bombing range...last time i did it, didn't notice a big difference in the bomb spread at various alts. maybe a couple yards difference from 5,000 to 10,000.
